King Charles III Coronation Trophy
Twelve triples team competed this afternoon for the Masefield LLP Solicitors Sponsored King Charles III Coronation trophy, each team playing 4 games of 6 ends each game, some excellent bowling was viewed from both experienced and new bowlers, after a tremendous finish in their last game, the worthy winners were team E, made up of Glyn Cummings, Murray Simpson and Mark Herbert, team E won 3 matches and drew 1 match resulting in a points total of 7 points. Worthy runners up were triple of team D, Eddie Hazlewood Ward, John Copeland and skip Janet Bloise, with a total of 6 points.
A most enjoyable afternoon, with the Masefield Trophy being presented by Caitlyn from Masefield's and Greg Hazlewood Ward our clubs Vice President, congratulation to all involved.
Our Progressive Triples Competition took place this dry afternoon, July 30th, with 10 teams playing 4 games each, the final result was Winning Trio of Team B, made up of Lynda Williams, Pat Hilling and Tony Smith, after having a very hard fought last game, this trio scored a total 6 points with a shot difference of +10 shots over their 4 games, 2nd place went to team H, made up of Di Gosling Smith, Greg Hazlewood Ward and Ken Wright, who actually beat team B in their match, this trio scored a total of 6 points but with a shot difference of only +6 shots. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of bowls.
Bill Golding Yard Stick Competition
On Saturday the 8th June the club held this annual competition.
16 pairs had a lovely afternoon taking part in this competition which was excellently organised and run by Martin White, many thanks.
After checkiing and re-checking all of the scores, the winners were announced.
